Syracuse
University, New York.
It's Superbowl weekend, and the ESPN College Game Day show comes
to Syracuse. High Def coverage of the game is handled by Dome
Productions (Toronto) and uplinked by Videocom. The
Game Day show is handled by All Mobile Video, in standard
definition, shot to
Bristol via the Moonlink truck. Syracuse
often has regional TV coverage, with a single mobile truck and Ku
uplink. Today's production has the media deck full and then some.
Two production trucks, each with B units, (AMV's B unit is an
expando) plus 2 C band uplink trucks...the office trailer and
generators were parked on the lower level. You might think this
was a superbowl setup (ok, maybe you wouldn't). Not
seen is a TVRO Net Return Cband dish for ESPN commentators to
watch. (It's inbetween the uplink units.) Counting DirecTV dishes,
a total of six dishes are deployed with the various trucks.
This
represents roughly 330,000 pounds of televised love. And it all
pulls out after the game!
